Campaign and sessions

Here you will find a summary of what has happened during the game sessions...
You can find a map of our campaign here.

What happened before...

Suladar: until 15 years ago a large kingdom (capital: Olemis'a), uniting a number of once independent provinces. But then the orcs came from the east....
A smaller still independent province to the east [not on the map] was invaded first. A party of adventurers [i.e., the party from our previous campaign] was send to Suladar, to ask for protection in exchange of swearing allegiance to the kingdom (and becoming another tax-paying province). While they eventually did present their request to the king, the orcs had already started invading Suladar itself. The orcs seemed to be everywhere, and the party found at that the enemy used long forgotten Elven portals, that were scattered and hidden over the lands, to transport from one place to another.
The forces of Suladar however, were unable to stop the invading army... [and here our last campaign somewhat bleed to death/ended]

Current Setting...

The orcs won the war. In the beginning of the occupations there were a lot of massacres and atrocities. But after 15 years, the relations between the occupying orcs and the mostly human population have somewhat stabilized. The people however, still strongly long for the old days (when taxes were a lot lower, people had more rights, ...).
The invasion seemed to have been planned by 'The Syndicate', supposedly a group of very rich and powerful wizards. They 'hired' the orc army, and for unknown reasons sent them to conquer Suladar. The Syndicate/orcs now control all the major cities. With every larger group of orc soldiers there is always a representative of the Syndicate present.
Not long after the invasion, rebellion groups had appeared. The player-characters are in one of those rebel groups, in the south-western (mountainous) part of Suladar [see the red 1 on the map]. About a year ago however, the leader of the rebellion of this region was ambushed by the orcs and had died. His replacement changed the policies of the rebellion somewhat. While before the rebellion was funded by donations of the populace, the people now had to pay 'protection'-money to the Rebellion. These protection fees are quite high. The player-characters (who had become friends) are starting to notice that the people are less happy with the rebellion as before...
