Session 3:
Played on 22 December 2003 @ Tom's
GameLocation: near the red 1 on the map.
GameDate: day 3-4
Note: Jonathan couldn't come this session. Sjoerd and Stefan were also here for one session.
We went back to the village Durvix Pass and said goodbye to the villagers (as we couldn't cure their disease). On our first night, not far from the village, the Bard became ill. He seemed to have the same disease as the villagers. Also that night, two riders approached. The DwarvenFighter and the UrbanManRogue. They came to tell us that our road back would be patrolled by orcs (or at least the region we were going through) and that it was best that we took a detour at the next village. We discussed a bit about the best course of action about the Bard's disease, and rode to the next village the following morning. The Bard was seriously ill by now. We started looking for a medic, but didn't find anything decent. There were, however, rumours about a 'witch' in the hills that knew some stuff about healing. We were sent to the barman of a tavern, who might know more. (Note that in the bar there were also three orcs). We talked with the bartender, and he wanted to help us if we could get rid of the 5 orcs in the town (who were patrolling/staying there). We could not just kill them, because that would bring more orcs. After some long discussions, talks about scaring them with stories about the disease and then poisoning them or giving them the disease, trying to convince the bartender to tell us the way to the witch now, the bartender suggested we could beat them up and flee the town. That way they would follow us. The DwarfFighter, who was socializing all the time with the 4 dwarf mercenaries that were also in the bar, eventually convinced the other dwarfs to 'beat some orcs up'. It was night by then. The four dwarfs set up an ambush (we hoped) and the DwarfFighter started to make trouble, lured the orcs out of the bar. The other dwarfs ambushed then and beat them up pretty bad (1 round and it was over).
The bartender was satisfied, and sent a local boy to guide us to the witch. We arrived at the secluded cottage in the forest. We knocked repeatedly: no response. Looking through the windows, we saw someone in bed, and a imp-like creature. The imp was making a mess and destroying a book. We went in through the window. The imp became invisible. The witch seemed to be sedated or something. We searched for the imp, who decloacked and attacked the dwarf, giving him a 5 hit bleeder; we eventually killed the imp. Waked the witch, witch was partly grateful (not a pleasant woman), and helped us. The bard was healed and she promised she would go to town to heal the sick orcs in order to stop the disease from spreading.
This is were the session stopped (4 hours playing).
